Yesterday TNS took ownership of a brand new 2658 Mercedes Actros. All new truck arrivals are exciting but this particular truck holds great significance. The first in the fleet to ever be named, “This One’s for you” was built in loving memory of our Founder Tom Norton.
It was an emotional process for all involved as Tom would normally take the lead when purchasing new equipment. Rick Child from Daimler trucks did a great job coordinating all aspects of the build and helping us add the final touches including the Chrome front grill, King Bars Pacific Bull bar and the King bar LED lights. “This was very emotional for all involved. Tom was a great man and I always enjoyed dealing with him. He will be sorely missed; I feel honoured to be apart of this truck” – Rick Child
Tom always took great pride in the presentation of his fleet. When the business started fourteen years ago the fleet sported a clean burgundy paint job with simple pinstripe and scroll work. Three years ago Tom, Sharon and sons Matthew and Jack modernized its brand and with it came a new paint job which saw the pin stripe and scroll work get left behind.
It’s a small touch but to the family at TNS the re introduction of the pint stripe and scroll work reminds us of Tom, the business he started and the vision he had for the company.
